Doll Club Supports Dean House
Doll Club president Debbie Roe presented a check to HBGHS president Gloria Simley as a thank you for letting them meet at the Dean House on the first Tuesday of the month from 7 to 9 PM. (see photo in right column)
Included in the photo are members of the Madison Area Doll Club being led in a creative workshop by Loretta Snee. The doll club is a non-profit organization that has been very generous to the Dean House over the years. We are happy to provide a meeting place for such an enthusiastic group that is so interested in doll history.

Thanks to all members and friends of HBGHS for making this summer and fall another successful and fun time. From our Delightful Second Sunday Open House each month to our Outstanding Summer Concerts and Ice Cream Social, to our Fabulous 150th Birthday Party for the Dean House, and our Awesome Old Car Rides on Labor Day, we sure had a fun and memorable season.
When you see special events taking place at the Dean House, check them out .
We have some members and even neighbors that have never been in the Dean House. Please stop in for a tour, ask questions about this beautiful farm home, and at the same time, learn something new about the history of this area. It is fascinating.
I am looking forward to seeing you at the Christmas Open House,
Best wishes for a Wonderful Winter.
Labor Day Old Car Rides at the Dean House
Dick and MariAnn Lichtfeld were instrumental in helping the HBGHS organize what is hoped to be an annual Old Car Rides day in the parking lot beside the Dean House. Two 1916 Peerless autos, a 1948 Overland Jeepster, a 1946 Buick, a 1962 Thunderbird and a mini Cooper were on display. For $2 people had the opportunity to experience riding around Monona in a big, old, heavy automobile.
